Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak Backs India After Counter-Terror Strikes in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir
Former United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Wednesday expressed his support for India after the Indian Armed Forces destroyed terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, from where attacks against India have been planned and directed.
Taking to X, Sunak stated: "No nation should have to tolerate terrorist attacks being launched against it from territory controlled by another country."
"India is justified in targeting terrorist infrastructure. There can be no impunity for terrorists," he added.
According to the Indian government, the armed forces destroyed nine terror camps linked to the Pahalgam attack.
Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said on Wednesday that Britain is engaging with both India and Pakistan to encourage dialogue and de-escalation following Operation Sindoor.
"Rising tensions between India and Pakistan will be of serious concern to many across the UK," Starmer told Parliament.
"We are engaging urgently with both countries, as well as international partners, to encourage dialogue, de-escalation, and the protection of civilians," the Prime Minister said.
