Tel Aviv, June 21: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) On Saturday released a video on its official social media account showing another airstrike overnight at the Isfahan nuclear site in Western Iran.

According to the IDF spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin, the target was a facility where enriched uranium is converted into material that could be used for nuclear weapons. He said this step comes after the uranium is enriched, making it a key component for building a nuclear bomb.

General Defrin said that the site had already been attacked at the start of the operation. The latest strike was done on a larger scale to strengthen the results of the earlier attack.

He also showed images of the site after the most recent airstrike and said, “Overnight, we deepened the strike on the nuclear site in Isfahan and in western Iran. On the screen, you can see the site where reconversion of enriched uranium takes place. This is the stage following enrichment in the process of developing a nuclear weapon. We had already struck the site in the operation’s opening blow—and last night, we struck it again in a wide-scale strike to reinforce our achievements. This is how the site now looks following the latest strike.”

In addition to the airstrike, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) intercepted 40 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that were launched from Iran overnight. This brings the total number of intercepted UAVs to over 470 since the start of Operation “Rising Lion,” with a reported success rate of 99%.

The IDF also said earlier that Behnam Shahriyari, the commander of the Quds Force’s Weapons Transfer Unit within Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed in a precise IDF strike in western Iran. Shahriyari played a key role in coordinating the transfer of weapons from the Iranian regime to its proxy groups across the Middle East, actions that were aimed at directly advancing Iran’s objective of destroying Israel.
