Islamabad, May 10: The social media has been buzzing with the news of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's death inside Adiala Jail on Saturday. However, the Pakistani media have claimed that the news of the murder of Imran Khan is fake and also blamed the Indian trolls for spreading fake news on social media. The Pakistani media have claimed that Imran Khan is "safe and sound" inside the jail.
On Saturday, a news spread on social media claiming that former Pakistan PM Imran khan has been killed by their intelligence agency ISI inside the jail. It is being claimed that Imran Khan has been murdered by giving poison inside the jail. However, Pakistani media have refuted the news and claimed that it is fake. But there is no official confirmation or statement has been released by the Pakistan or jail authorities in connection with the fake news.
A press release is also circulating on social media claiming that it has been issued by the Government of Pakistan. The press release reads, "It is with deep regret and solemnity that we confirm the passing of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in judicial custody. The incident occurred under circumstances that are currently under thorough investigation.
The press release further states, "This development has sent shockwaves across the country and beyond, and the Government of Pakistan acknowledges the gravity of the situation. We are committed to ensuring complete transparency as we determine the causes and accountability behind this tragic event."

Pakistan Observer said in its reports that reliable sources have confirmed that these reports are false. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan is alive and remains incarcerated at Adiala Jail, as confirmed by updates from May 4–9, 2025. Moreover, Khan has actively pursued legal recourse, having filed a bail application through his legal team, which further affirms his continued engagement in ongoing legal proceedings.
