Kushinagar: 'Love has no limits' and it has been proved once again, this time by a UP couple. Two men who were in love with each other tied knots in Kushinagar, UP. Owing to the limitations of the same-sex marriage law in India, one of the guys swapped his gender and became a woman to marry his lover.
This incident has come to light from Sitalpur, Nebua Naurangia, where two boys named Prem and Sonu were in a long-term relationship with each other. Sonu opted to change his gender to female to marry Prem and became Soniya. In the viral video, the couple can be seen performing wedding ceremonies.

Same Sex Marriage Not Legal In India:
In India, same-sex marriage is currently not legally recognized. The Supreme Court, in a 2023 ruling, declined to grant legal recognition to same-sex marriages, stating that there is no fundamental right to marry and that changes to the Special Marriage Act fall under the purview of the Parliament. However, the court did emphasize the need for equal rights and societal acceptance for LGBTQIA+ people.
