Rajasthan: 2-Year-Old Sick Leopard Paraded On Leash; Crowd Clicks Selfies And Record Videos

A two-year-old sick and injured leopard was paraded on a leash when villagers spotted it at Ramgarh Visdhari Tiger Sanctuary near Rajasthan's Bundi. The sick animal appeared to be scared and unable to move.

Jaipur: A two-year-old sick and injured leopard was paraded on a leash when villagers spotted it at Ramgarh Visdhari Tiger Sanctuary near Rajasthan's Bundi. The sick animal appeared to be scared and unable to move. Villagers gathered around it when they spotted the leopard near a tree, struggling to move. The leopard was drenched in the rainwater.

The leopard seemed calm and did not attack any villagers. Taking advantage of the opportunity, people gathered around the leopard with sticks and mobile phones in their hands and started taking selfies with the sick animal.

Leopard Paraded On Leash:

The villagers gathered around the sick leopard, paraded it on a leash around the area, and were taking selfies with it as the animal was barely moving. In a viral video posted on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, by UpdateIndia_TV, a man was holding the scarf tied to the leopard's neck like a leash and circled it around, while others captured videos and images.

Action by forest officials:

The forest rescue team reached the destination shortly and treated it with some medical help at Bundi. The officials also confirmed the animal as a 2-year-old female leopard. The leopard has now been sent to Kota Zoo for further treatment. According to the reports, DCF Arvind Kumar Jha is monitoring the situation.

On the other hand, as reported by NDTV, Sumit Kanojiya, the ranger at Bundi's Ramgarh Visdhari Reserve, said, "When we heard a leopard was injured, we reached the spot and rescued the animal. It has been given medical treatment at Bundi and then taken to the Kota zoo for proper medical attention. It appears there is some internal condition, as there are no injury marks on the leopard's body ."

Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve

The Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve was recently notified as the fourth tiger reserve in Rajasthan. It is located in the Bundi district and covers an area of 481.91 sq km. The sanctuary is an important habitat for tigers and other wildlife.
