A government-run bus was halted midway on the roads of Karnataka as the driver walked out of his chair to perform namaz. He stopped the vehicle between Hubballi and Haveri, making passengers wait for minutes until he completed his prayers.

The incident was reported on X, when a user named Akshay Akki shared the footage online and questioned the act: "Is this public transport or his private property?". Netizens replied, saying, "This is highly unprofessional".

The visuals showed passengers seated on her seats and waiting for the KSRTC bus driver to resume the ride. With some busy on their phones and others simply wondering the driver's actions that consumed their travel time, the people waited for his complete his prayers.

The skull cap-clad driver hopped on a bus seat to offer namaz. In the video, the uniformed government bus driver, identified as Shafiulla Nadaf, was seen praying inside the vehicle after stopping it mid-route.

Sharing the clip on social media, the X user wrote, "KSRTC driver Shafiulla Nadaf stopped a government bus mid-route from Hubballi to Haveri to offer Namaz on the roadside with passengers still inside This happened on the evening of April 29. Is this public transport or his private property?". He tagged the official handle of KSRTC for attention and necessary action.

The video went viral and has since attracted more than two lakh views, with nearly 300 people commenting on the driver's act.

"This is highly unprofessional", one user replied.

"Imagine if he were a pilot!", another quipped.

A few netizens demanded the transport service to sack or dismiss him from his duty.

"We don't know the actual situation on the bus. It might be standing at the bus stand, or he might be waiting for the conductor or driver. Religion is a matter of personal belief. Don't push to terminate someone from their job & they might be supporting a family with that salary", others said.
