Getting drunk during dinner is one thing, but engaging in unacceptable behavior afterward is entirely another. Two intoxicated teenagers peed into a hotpot soup in China. The duo stood up on their table and urinated into the food served to them at a Haidilao restaurant outlet in Shanghai. The disgusting act was caught on camera. The visuals of the incident have surfaced online.

The video is being widely circulated on Weibo and other internet platforms. It opens to show a man, wearing shoes, standing on the dining table served with food and drinks releasing his pee into the hotpot.
A report in the South China Morning Post mentioned the incident took place last month when two 17-year-old migrant workers were dining at a private room of the restaurant. They engaged in the drunken act soon after asking for a few beverages and a hotpot soup. In an unexpected and concerning episode, the youths jumped on the table and unzipped their pants, only to disrespectfully pee on their meal.
Police action against drunken behaviour
The heavily intoxicated diners faced legal consequences after peeing at the eatery. The police looked into the matter and detained the teenagers.
Restaurant responds to incident
Haidilao issued a statement that they have thoroughly cleaned and replaced all concerned utensils after the incident unfolded and sparked a discussion about hygiene on social media.
"I will not go to Haidilao for now. I do not want to eat from hotpot dishes which have been peed by other people", a netizen reportedly said reacting to the incident.
However, the restaurant pointed out they have changed all cooking utensils at the Shanghai outlet to ensure the safety and hygiene of its customers.
