As per reports, the woman identified as Gangamma from Gollagudem has a pet hen. She seems to be emotionally attached to the chicken, however, the woman was in tears when she came to know that her neighbout had hit her pet hen with a stick due to which both its legs were broken.
There are reports that the woman was crying inconsolably after the incident and decided to the raise the matter to the local police station. The woman approached the Nakerkal police station and demanded that a case should be filed against her neighbour identified as Rakesh for hitting the bird inhumanely.
She said that the pet hen had a habit of roaming in the area during the day and returning in the evening, while stopping near the haystack of the neighbour. The hen would peck at scattered grains in the haystack, which Rakesh did not like at all.
Furious over the chicken, Rakesh hit the bird while it was consuming the scattered grains in the haystack. The hard blow resulted in serious injuries to the chicken legs. The chicken was not able to walk properly afterward.
Gangamma claimed that she do not want money or compensation for the loss which was caused to the bird. She said that she only wants justice and a strict action against Rakesh.
The police tried to convince Gangamma to take the compensation for her hen, however, she refused and demanded strict punishment. The police then asked her to take the chicken home and get it treated for the injuries and also said that they would visit the village and settle the dispute through a panchayat in the village. The woman then left the police station after the promise made to her by the police.
