Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): In a bizarre incident, a drunk man drove his car onto Gwalior’s railway platform in an attempt to ‘race’ with a train.
According to information, the incident took place late on Wednesday night. The man was identified as 34-year-old Nitin Rathore, hailing from Adityapuram.
As soon as Railway Protection Force (RPF) officers noticed the man, they stopped the car and detained the man. The vehicle was seized, and Nitin was booked under Section 153 of the Indian Railways Act.
Video goes viral
A video of the incident has also surfaced, which is going viral on social media on Thursday.
It is said he entered the platform area using a route created for construction vehicles during station redevelopment work.
According to officials, the path near the Officer Rest House is temporarily open for machines like loaders. Nitin took advantage of this route to reach the platform in his car.
At the time of the incident, the New Delhi-Agra Cantt Intercity Express was standing at the platform and passengers were getting off.
This train had been extended to Gwalior due to the Guru Purnima fair in Mathura.

Started drinking since wife left home
During questioning, Nitin revealed that his wife had left him and gone to her parents' home because of his drinking habits. Frustrated and under the influence of alcohol, he decided to take his car to the railway station and drive it onto the platform.
