Updates:
After nearly 11 weeks, the IPL 2025 has culminated in a battle between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) for the coveted trophy. One of the sides will end its 18-year-wait as a rainy Ahmedabad gears up for the decider, with a massive crowd expected at the venue.
Punjab Kings were hammered by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Qualifier 1 but took the new lease of life by the scruff, defeating the Mumbai Indians by five wickets. With Ahmedabad's surface emerging as a better batting surface than that of Mullanpur and Punjab Kings playing just a night before, Shreyas Iyer and co. will fancy their chances but Josh Hazlewood's extra bounce can prove to be lethal.
Meanwhile, RCB look well-drilled to end their title drought after being one of the most consistent teams throughout the tournament. Luck deserted them in the last three IPL finals and it remains to be seen if it does on this occasion too. While the momentum is slightly with the Royal Challengers due to the four-day rest they have got after Qualifier 1, the availability of Phil Salt and Tim David remains a question mark.
