According to Accuweather, the chances of precipitation is 80% in the evening, with a cloud cover of 100%. However, the rain could allow a shortened contest between the two sides due to the good drainage system that the Chinnaswamy Stadium possesses.

Should the match result in a washout, the Royal Challengers are likely to be through to the playoffs, given they are already on 16 points and will be on 17. However, the Knight Riders' campaign will likely end.
