The fan, who breached security to meet Riyan Parag in Guwahati during IPL 2025 game between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday, had a keen desire to meet the all-rounder. In a video surfaced on social media, a fellow spectator tried to warn him about the consequences but he was ingrained in going onto the field.
The IPL 2025 opener between the Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has already witnessed a security breach as a fan ran in and fell on Virat Kohli's feet. The cops dealt with him quite strictly on that occasion, arresting him but the fan had revealed that he harbours no regret in doing that. On Wednesday, yet another incident took place when Parag was bowling as the fan ran in to touch his feet. The authorities stormed onto the pitch and took the spectator in question away.
In the below video, a fellow spectator could be seen warning the fan by saying that the authorities will beat him up if he goes to the ground. However, he said:
"Nahin maarega bhai, main jaaunga. (They won't beat me up, I'm keen to go.)
Rajasthan Royals slump to their second defeat
Meanwhile, the Royals, who were playing their home game in Guwahati, slumped to an eight-wicket defeat on Wednesday. It was Knight Riders skipper Ajinkya Rahane, who had won the toss and opted to bowl first witnessed a terrific job done by the spinners as they restricted the Royals to 151/9.
The Royals' batting unit hardly got going as Dhruv Jurel top-scored with 33. Parag's reckless batting came into question as he had already hit three sixes and went for another off Varun Chakaravarthy before being caught.
Their bowling unit equally struggled as Quinton de Kock took the game away despite two earlier wickets. The South African keeper-batter finished the game off with two sixes and a four in the 18th over of the innings as the defending champions crossed the finish line easily.
De Kock also earned the Player of the Match award for his 61-ball 97.
