A very unexpected event was witnessed on-air after South Africa lifted the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 trophy when the WCL founder stunned the anchor live on air with his answer to a question about how he intended to celebrate the success of the tournament.
WCL founder Harshit Tomar, speaking to anchor Karishma Kotak during a post-match broadcast, casually replied, “Probably once this is over, I’m going to propose to you."
Caught completely off guard, Kotak reacted with a stunned “Oh my god,” before quickly regaining her composure and returning to presenter mode. The video has since gone viral on social media
Tomar later posted a photo with Kotak online, complete with a heart emoji fueling speculation about whether the surprise had deeper intent.

Pakistan to not take part in WCL
Pakistan Champions team will not be part of future WCL tournament after PCB imposed 'Blanket Ban' on the team. The decision comes after India boycotted both the matches during the tournament.
As per the report, the board cited "biased" conduct by the tournament organisers. The PCB in it's statement said, "The cancellation was not based on cricketing merit but on appeasing a specific nationalistic narrative. This sends an unacceptable message to the international sporting community.

They further said,"However, we cannot allow our players to be part of events where the spirit of the game is overshadowed by skewed politics that undermine the very essence of sportsmanship and the gentleman's game."
The PCB also took strong exception to the WCL's decision to award points to India despite the forfeiture, calling it "tainted with hypocrisy and bias."
Criticising the tournament's handling of the situation, the PCB said, "The cancellation was not based on cricketing merit but on appeasing a specific nationalistic narrative. This sends an unacceptable message to the international sporting community."
