CSK posted a massive total of 230/5 in their allotted 20 overs. South African power-hitter Dewald Brevis led the charge with a blistering 57 off 23 balls, smashing 4 fours and 5 sixes. Devon Conway provided a solid foundation with a composed 52 off 35 balls, including 6 boundaries and 2 sixes. For Gujarat Titans, Prasidh Krishna stood out with the ball, delivering a tight spell of 4 overs for just 22 runs and 2 crucial wickets, stemming the run flow during a critical phase of the innings.
Chasing 231, GT faltered early and never recovered, folding for 147 in 18.3 overs. Sai Sudharsan was the lone bright spot in the top order, scoring 41 off 28 balls with 6 boundaries, while Arshad Khan added a late flurry with 20 off 14 balls, including 3 sixes. CSK’s bowling unit executed their plans perfectly. Young pacer Anshul Kamboj was the standout performer, finishing with exceptional figures of 3/13 in 2.3 overs, wrapping up the GT innings with sharp pace and precision.
Despite the dominant win, CSK's inconsistent season saw them languish at the bottom of the table, finishing 10th for the first time since the franchise's inception in 2008.
