SunRisers Hyderabad's keeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen equalled Yusuf Pathan for the joint third-fastest hundred in IPL history as he belted one off only 37 deliveries against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The South African got to the milestone in the 19th over of the innings with a brace.
Pathan, who had played in the tournament from 2008-2019, belted a 37-ball hundred for the Rajasthan Royals against Mumbai Indians way back in 2010. He eventually finished unbeaten on 105 off 39 deliveries and propelled the Orange Army to an eye-watering 278/3 in 20 overs.
Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma set the tone for the SunRisers with an explosive 92-run partnership in 6.5 overs. Klaasen joined Head at number three after Abhishek's dismissal for 32 and added 83 with the South Australian, who made a 40-ball 76. Ishan Kishan also chipped in with 29 off 20 balls.
