NASCAR driver Connor Zilisch took to X share an update on his health after bizarrely falling from the top of his car as he was celebrating his win at Watkins Glen International. A video of the fall surfaced on social media as Zilisch slipped and had to be taken in an ambulance. The 19-year-old took to X to announce that he has a broken collarbone.
Zilisch, who has registered his series-high sixth win of the season, was seen standing on the top of his car adjacent to the window ledge. The 19-year-old's feet slipped all of a sudden, thereby landing on the concrete awkwardly on his neck. Zilisch briefly lay emotionless as CW's broadcast quickly cut the visual and he had to be taken to the hospital.
NASCAR had shared the below update:
"Connor Zilisch has been transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. He is awake and alert."
Nevertheless, the teenage prodigy himself took to X to share an update on his condition and wrote that it's nothing too serious as he is already getting better.
"Thank you everybody for reaching out today. I’m out of the hospital and getting better already. Thankfully, CT scans for my head are clear, I just have a broken collarbone. Thankful for all the medics for quick attention and grateful it wasn’t any worse."
Will Connor Zilisch make an appearance in Sunday's Cup Series race?
Having won on Saturday, Zilisch was set to make an appearance at Sunday’s Cup Series race at Watkins Glen. However, that no longer looks a possibility due to the injury as reports have confirmed that he has been withdrawn.
The likes of Kyle Busch, Corey LaJoie, and Rajah Caruth had also shared their concerns on social media.
