Dhule: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) woman worker has painted a sketch of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. BJP's Maharashtra Social Media handle has uploaded a video about it. The name of the woman is Sneha Ahirrao.
In the video, it can be seen that the woman is pulling her blood out with a syringe. Then the blood is used to paint CM Fadnavis’ sketch drawn with pencil. The sketch features Fadnavis wearing a 'Feta' (Maharashtrian turban).
The sketch reads 'Ladkya Bahinincha Ladka Bhau... Deva Bhau' which translates to beloved sisters' beloved brother... Deva Bhau.
CM Fadnavis, a three-time Maharashtra Chief Minister, was one of the key leaders along with then CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar to introduce the Maharashtra Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana.
The Maharashtra government gave a green signal to the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana on 28 June 2024. Under this scheme, women in the state will get ₹1,500 every month. The idea is to help them become financially independent. It also hopes to support better health and nutrition. Most importantly, the scheme recognises the important role women play in their families.
Since then, Devendra Fadnavis became CM, and his party workers fondly call him Deva Bhau, their beloved brother.
CM Devendra Fadnavis reposted the X post by BJP Maharashtra, thanking the woman. He said that MLA Anup Agarwal told him about it. He wrote, "MLA Anup Bhaiya informed me that you drew my portrait using your own blood. I sincerely thank you for this loving gesture. This bond of affection is truly precious to me. Still, I would request that you not take such a painful step. Your love and blessings are the greatest strength for me. Your blood is invaluable, so please take care of yourself from now on. Once again, thank you."
