Mumbai: Vehicular traffic on the Mumbai – Pune Expressway will be out of bounds for two hours today. There will be traffic block on the Pune bound lanes of the Expressway.

“Traffic block is essential to erect a gantry at Lonavala to regulate heavy traffic,” said a Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) official.

As per the details available, the gantry erection work will happen between 12 noon and 2 pm. Therefore, Pune bound motorists will be diverted to exit the Expressway at Khandala Ghat and re-enter it at Valvan Toll Plaza ahead of Lonavala.

The 95-kilometre Expressway is a crucial road connecting routes between Mumbai and Pune. For a few hours during the traffic block and thereafter, motorists should anticipate congestion along the route or plan their travel accordingly.
