Citizens have become fearful due to the increasing movement and attacks of leopards in the district. A shocking situation has arisen in Nashik district after leopards claimed two lives in the last two days. In the first incident, a three-year-old farmer's son died in a leopard attack in Vadner village near Nashik Road, while in the second incident, an old woman lost her life in a leopard attack in Dindori. Due to these incidents, the demand for the Forest Department to immediately install cages in sensitive places has gained momentum.
Incident in Vadner
On Friday evening, a leopard entered Bhagat's house in Vadner village. The leopard attacked the family's three-year-old Ayush. This is a very heartbreaking incident. No one could have guessed when the leopard entered the house at night. When Ayush was called for food, he did not respond. After that, a search began for him. Villagers, Forest Department, dog squad, and police personnel also participated in the search operation. After a three-hour search operation, Ayush's body was found in a pool of blood in a sugarcane field. Seeing this, everyone, including the family, was shocked.
Incident in Dindori
On the other hand, Janabai Jagan Bade (age 65), a resident of Bade Vasti in Baliramwadi in Dindori taluka, was attacked and killed by a leopard while she was working in the field. This is the third victim of a leopard in this area, which has spread anger among the citizens. Angry citizens brought the body of the old woman in front of the Forest Department office and expressed protest. At this time, a road blockade was also set up on the Nashik-Kalvan road. It will be important to see what steps the Forest Department takes now, given the angry sentiments expressed in the district after both these incidents.
