A video of a man wearing gold ornaments and wielding a revolver during a Haldi ceremony in Dombivli went viral on social media. Following the video's circulation, the local police swiftly took action, investigated the matter, and filed an FIR against him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act.
The two men have been identified as Chintaman Lokhande (41) and Sharad Lokhande. Sources revealed that Chintaman Lokhande, a local office bearer of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was dancing at the Haldi ceremony in Umbrade village, within the jurisdiction of the Khadakpada police station, on February 14. He reportedly brandished his revolver while dancing to the song "Mai Hu Don," waving it in the air. Meanwhile, Sharad Lokhande was seen displaying his own revolver to the crowd. Upon investigation, police found no record of either of them legally possessing firearms.

Some attendees recorded the incident on their mobile phones and later circulated it on social media, causing the video to spread rapidly. Following the public uproar, a police case was registered. Concerned citizens have raised alarms over the increasing criminal incidents in the Kalyan-Dombivli region.
Senior Police Inspector Amarsingh Waghmode of the Khadakpada police station stated, "We have registered an FIR against them after receiving the video. No arrests have been made so far. We have summoned them to appear at the police station for questioning. Their revolver has been seized, and we have initiated the process to cancel the arms license. Further legal action will follow."
