Tata Power’s Women-Led ‘Tejaswini Group’ Enhances Mumbai’s Power Distribution, Customer Service & Sustainability

Mumbai: Tata Power is promoting inclusivity and operational excellence with its women-led ‘Tejaswini Group’ in its Mumbai distribution division. The group comprising of all women members, oversees crucial power utility function, in Urban zone of Mumbai Distribution Division.

Urban Zone comprises 40 sq km area ranging from Andheri to Bandra. The key areas handled are Bandra Kurla Complex, Andheri, Khar, Bandra, Santacruz, and Vile Parle, which are elite areas of Mumbai. The Core Function of the group comprises of Safety, Customer Acquisition, Network Engineering, Network Maintenance and Customer relations.

To ensure seamless power supply to the area, Tata Power’s Tejaswini Group plans for timely maintenance of equipments, also proactively identifies areas of concern and ensures timely resolution with adhering to all safety procedures.

Their efforts have led to significant reduction in service downtime, enabling quicker issue resolution and significantly improving customer experience across the region. Group acquisition team has acquired significant numbers of consumers in their area including 88 nos. of Green power consumers.

These initiatives showcase the Tejaswini Group's commitment to enhance operational efficiency, sustainability, and customer service in Mumbai's power distribution network. Additionally, Women professionals at Tata Power are also leading the EZ Home Automation initiative, transforming energy consumption across Mumbai homes.

The initiative has successfully completed API integrations, resulting in the installation of EZ Home Automation systems in Mumbai households, allowing seamless interoperability across multiple platforms.

Furthering this commitment, Tata Power also operates 4 all-women Customer Relations Centre (CRC) at Ghatkopar, Khar, Borivali and Andheri in the city. Managed entirely by a trained team of women, the centre handles customer services such as new power connections, billing, and query resolution, ensuring a seamless experience for consumers.

With women professionals leading key operations in power distribution, customer service, and smart energy solutions, Tata Power continues to drive a more inclusive and sustainable energy future for Mumbai.
