Palghar, Maharashtra: In a shocking incident at a roadside eatery in Vasai, a 35-year-old dhaba owner, Ajit Rajendra Prasad Yadav, succumbed to injuries after being brutally assaulted by a group of men late Saturday evening. The Naigaon Police have registered a case of murder and arrested seven suspects involved in the fatal attack.
Dispute Over Mobile Theft Leads to Fatal Attack in Vasai
The incident, which took place on August 3, 2025, around 4:30 pm, began as a dispute over a mobile phone theft accusation at Yadav Dhaba in Maljipada. According to the complaint filed by employee Kapil Ramsuharath Yadav (28), a group of men led by Lalla Amar Singh confronted Yadav and accused him of the theft.
Assailants Used Wooden Stick, Plastic Chairs in Attack
Lalla Singh allegedly initiated the assault by threatening to kill Ajit Yadav and then striking both him and the complainant with a wooden stick. The assault intensified when Shivam Om Prakash Yadav and Mahesh Samarjit Yadav allegedly joined in, using plastic chairs to attack Ajit.
Employee Also Beaten While Trying to Escape
As Kapil Yadav tried to flee, he was reportedly restrained by Rajan Maurya, Bhola Yadav, and two other men, who beat him with sticks while shouting threats.

Naigaon Police Book Case as Murder, Arrest All 7 Accused
Following Ajit Yadav's death, the case has been re-registered as a murder investigation. The Naigaon Police, who had previously taken four of the accused into custody, have now apprehended all seven individuals involved in the assault. The investigation is ongoing, with police officials working to complete the legal procedures for the murder charges.
