Police had received a tip-off about two persons selling narcotic substances in the Indira Nagar area of Turbhe MIDC. Acting on this information, under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Abasaheb Patil, Assistant Police Inspector Sameer Chaskar and his team raided a suspected house on Bagade Hill in Indira Nagar around 3:45 pm on August 11.
During the raid, the accused Mirza and Kamble were found on the open terrace of the second floor of the house, packing greenish leaves, flowers, and pods of ganja into small plastic packets.
The police arrested both suspects and seized the ganja—2 kg 344 grams worth Rs 46,000—that they had allegedly brought for sale to customers. The terrace where they were found belongs to one Rahul Dandge, who is also suspected to be involved in the purchase and sale of the narcotic substance.
"We have included Dandge as a co-accused and launched a search for him. A case has been registered against all three under the NDPS Act," police said.
