This August 9, Mumbai will come alive with the divine sounds of Abhangs as Abhangwari marks 10 glorious years of celebrating devotional music.

Presented by Sugee and initiated by Vasantotsav, the event has been a constant torchbearer for the rich tradition of Marathi devotional music, uniting celebrated and upcoming artists on one stage.

Celebrating with Two Musical Gems

This year’s milestone edition features two extraordinary performers, Rahul Deshpande and Deepti Mate and beautifully coincides with Raksha Bandhan, the festival of love, trust, and lifelong bonds.

The concert will be held on August 9, 2025, at 8:30 PM at the Prabodhankar Thackeray Auditorium, Borivali.

Rahul Deshpande: Carrying Forward a Rich Legacy

A stalwart of Indian classical music, Rahul Deshpande is revered for his expertise in Khayal, Natya Sangeet, and Abhangs. The grandson of the legendary Pt. Vasantrao Deshpande, Rahul brings a fresh yet rooted approach to traditional forms, captivating audiences across the world.

Speaking about the event, Rahul shared, “Abhangwari has always been close to my heart. This year is even more special as we celebrate its 10th year. On public demand, we are bringing it to Borivali. Thank you for the immense love over the years, keep blessing us always.”
