Mumbai: A late-night joyride turned into a nightmare for three men on Friday, July 11, after they drove their car onto Juhu Beach in an inebriated state, eventually getting the vehicle stuck in the wet sand near the sea. The incident led to a two-hour rescue operation by the police and fire brigade, following which the car was pulled out using a tractor. Police have registered a case under the Motor Vehicles Act and have seized the car.

Drunk Tourists Drive Car On Beach, Get Stuck

The trio included Yadav (36), a local resident of Khar in Mumbai, and his two friends, Najeeb Syed (42) from Andhra Pradesh and Brijesh Soni (33) from Madhya Pradesh, who were visiting the city. After spending the day sightseeing, the men reportedly consumed a large quantity of alcohol on Friday evening.

Under the influence, they decided to drive their car onto the sands of Juhu Beach at around 8 pm. However, as they ventured closer to the sea, their vehicle became stuck in the wet sand and was unable to move. On-duty patrol police noticed the incident and immediately alerted the fire brigade for assistance.

A tractor was brought in to pull the car out, and the operation took nearly two hours to complete. The three men were then taken to the local police station for questioning. Upon confirmation of alcohol consumption, a case was filed against them under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.

The police issued a notice to all three individuals and released them later. However, the car has been seized and further legal action is underway.

Alert Lifeguard Saves 20-Year-Old Lucknow Man From Drowning At Juhu Beach

Meanwhile, just a day ago, a 20-year-old man from Lucknow was rescued by an alert lifeguard on Juhu beach. The incident took place on Thursday evening when the youth identified as Saheeb Singh had visited the beach. Singh, who was on a holiday with his family, visited Juhu beach in the evening to enjoy some fun time.

According to locals, Singh entered the water for a quick swim when he was caught in a strong current of the sea water. His family panicked and shouted for help. Fortunately, Sachin Tandel, an on-duty lifeguard, swiftly sprung into action and dived into the sea to save the youth. Tandel and his colleagues brought Singh back to the shore safely.
