Mumbai: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), West Zone (Mumbai), has announced the launch of the Ashta Jyotirlinga Shravan Special Yatra aboard the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train, set to depart from Solapur on July 19, 2025, and from Madgaon on August 5, 2025. This spiritual journey is part of IRCTC’s initiative to offer unique, affordable, and comfortable tour packages during the auspicious Shravan month.
Group General Manager of IRCTC’s West Zone, Gaurav Jha, highlighted the importance of the package, saying, “Our goal is to make travel more accessible and enjoyable, ensuring that every trip is a memorable one. These packages are designed to provide convenience, comfort, and affordability, giving people the chance to explore the best of India during Shravan.”
The all-inclusive tour package offers pilgrims a chance to visit eight prominent Jyotirlinga shrines across India, covering multiple states with onboard and off-board facilities. "The pricing for the tour starts at approximately Rs 22,760 per person from Solapur and Rs 23,880 per person from Madgaon" said an official.
The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train offers a range of travel options, including Sleeper (Non-AC), AC III tier, and AC II tier coaches, accommodating around 600 to 700 passengers. The train is equipped with infotainment systems, CCTV cameras, and a fully functional pantry car, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience throughout the journey.
"IRCTC has meticulously designed the itinerary to include hotel stays, off-board excursions by bus, professional tour guides, freshly prepared meals, and travel insurance, offering a seamless travel experience from start to finish" further added official.
The Bharat Gaurav trains are themed to reflect India’s rich heritage, with exteriors adorned with monuments, sculptures, dance forms, and cultural symbols. These visual elements enhance the travel experience, making it not only spiritual but also culturally immersive.

According to spokesperson of IRCTC, The package has already generated significant interest, with regular customers eagerly booking their seats through IRCTC’s official tourism portal.
