Mumbai News: Rotary Club North Bombay Hosts Mega Medical Camp In Dharavi

Mumbai: The Rotary Club of North Bombay (RCBN) organised a 'mega medical camp' with a special focus on breast cancer screening at Kamraj Nagar, Dharavi on Sunday.

The medical camp attended by over 287 beneficiaries offered a range of services, including general body check-ups, breast cancer screening, orthopedic consultations, eye examinations, physiotherapy sessions, and other medical services. The camp was conducted by a team of 25 doctors and paramedical staff from RCBN, including Dr Anjali Patil, Dr Sarosh Mehta, and Dr Jinesh Upadhyay.

Dr Upadhyay, an eye surgeon, took charge of eye-related problems. The camp also provided free medicines, ayurvedic consultations, PFT (pulmonary function test) for lung-related issues, and homeopathy services.

The event was inaugurated by past president of RCNB, Dr Rajendra Agarwal, who emphasised the importance of community service and healthcare initiatives.

Kamal Chokshi, president of RCBN, said they were thrilled with the response to the medical camp and breast cancer screening programme. "Our team of doctors and paramedical staff worked tirelessly to provide quality healthcare services to the community. We are grateful to Dr Rajendra Agarwal for inaugurating the event and to all our members who contributed to its success."

The beneficiaries at the Dharavi camp appreciated the comprehensive healthcare services provided. RCBN's community service initiatives extend beyond this medical camp. The club also organises thalassemia awareness and check-up camps for college students, aiming to educate and screen young adults for this genetic disorder.

The organisation also conducts dental and eye check-up camps in schools, providing free dental surgery and spectacles to students in need.
