IPL 2025: Mumbai Police Issues Traffic Advisory Ahead Of MI vs GT Match At Wankhede Stadium; Check Details

The match is set to begin at 7:30 pm, and heavy pedestrian and vehicular congestion is anticipated in the area. To ensure smooth traffic flow and minimise inconvenience, temporary traffic and parking restrictions will be enforced from 12 pm to 11:55 pm on match day.

Mumbai: The Mumbai Traffic Police issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans, scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, at Wankhede Stadium. The match is set to begin at 7:30 pm, and heavy pedestrian and vehicular congestion is anticipated in the area.

To ensure smooth traffic flow and minimise inconvenience, temporary traffic and parking restrictions will be enforced from 12 pm to 11:55 pm on match day. The advisory has been issued under Temporary Notification No. 553/DCP/SOUTH/TEMP/T/2025 by Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Traffic, Pradnya Jedge.

Traffic Restrictions and Alternate Routes

Motorists are advised to avoid the Wankhede Stadium area during the restricted hours. As no parking will be available at the stadium, spectators are strongly encouraged to use public transport, particularly local trains.

Key road closure: Veer Nariman Road, from Churchgate Junction to Sundarmahal Junction, will be shut for vehicular traffic as needed.

Alternate routes:

From Churchgate Junction: Take Maharshi Karve Road to Pandit Paluskar Chowk (Opera House), then turn left to reach Vinoli Chowpatty.

From Ramdev Potdar Junction (C.T.O): Proceed via Chafekar Bandhu Chowk (O.C.S), follow M.G. Road, cross Shyamaldas Junction, and use Meghdut Bridge (Princess Street).

Parking Prohibitions

Strict no-parking zones have been declared in the following areas:

“C” Road (North): N.S. Road to “E” Road

“D” Road: N.S. Road to “E” Road

“E” Road: “D” Road to “C” Road

“F” Road: N.S. Road to “E Cross Road”

“G” Road (South): N.S. Road to “E Cross Road”

“E Cross Road”: “F” Road to “G” Road

N.S. Road: Mafatlal Bath Signal to Air India Junction

Veer Nariman Road: Churchgate Junction to Sundarmahal Junction

Violators will face towing and e-challans.

Guidelines for Spectators

From Churchgate Station:

Gate 01, 02, 07: Use ‘D’ Road.

Gate 05: Walk via Maharshi Karve Road and use the foot overbridge near Pratishta Bhavan.

From Marine Lines Station:

Gates 04 and 05A: Use ‘F’ Road and access via Mumbai Vidyapith Stadium Gate and Patan Jain Mandal Road.

Entry Instructions:

Gate 03: Walk along N.S. Road footpath from Churchgate.

Pedestrians must stick to pavements; private vehicle drop-offs must occur at designated spots.

U-turns on N.S. Road are prohibited two hours before and after the match, except at Murali Deora Chowk and Mafatlal Junction.

Similar advisories will be issued for Mumbai Indians’ next home match on May 15 against Delhi Capitals.
