The Navi Mumbai Traffic Department has declared a No Parking Zone along key routes in Nerul on July 12, in view of a high-profile public event. The statue unveiling ceremony of Lord Gautam Buddha, organized by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, will take place at Jewel of Navi Mumbai, Sector 26, Nerul, at 11:30 AM, and will be attended by VVIPs and other dignitaries.
To ensure smooth movement of the VVIP convoy, the traffic department has restricted parking on both sides of the road from T.S. Chanakya Signal to Sanjay Joshi Chowk and up to Zhoting Dev Ground from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the day of the event.
According to the official order issued by Tirupati Kakade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Navi Mumbai, the temporary No Parking Zone has been enforced using the powers granted under Sections 115, 116(1)(a)(b), and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act, in line with Maharashtra Government Notification No. M.V.A.-116/CR/37/TR dated September 27, 1996.

"The designated route for dignitaries includes Palm Beach Road, T.S. Chanakya Signal, and Sanjay Joshi Chowk, leading to the event venue. The traffic restrictions aim to minimize disruptions and ensure the safety and convenience of participants and commuters," Kakade said in his orders.
The traffic advisory, however, exempts essential service vehicles, including ambulances, fire brigades, police vehicles, government vehicles, and those transporting essential goods.
