The Ganeshotsav celebrated in Mumbai is world-renowned, and we are determined to make this year’s celebration unforgettable, ensuring that no Ganesh Mandal or devotee faces any inconvenience, said Skill Development Minister Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha. A coordination meeting with Ganesh Mandals was held under his chairmanship at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) D Ward office. The meeting was attended by BMC Deputy Commissioner Manish Valanju, senior police officers, Girish Walawalkar – Secretary of the Brihanmumbai Public Ganeshotsav Coordination Committee – along with a large number of representatives from various Ganesh Mandals.
Minister Lodha interacted with the office-bearers of the Ganesh Mandals to understand their issues and directed civic officials to resolve them promptly. He also instructed the traffic police to ensure smooth movement by clearing abandoned or wrongly parked vehicles that cause congestion during idol arrival and immersion. He emphasized that the civic administration must ensure there are no delays in granting various online permissions to the Mandals through the One-Window system, as done every year.
The administration is fully prepared to provide basic facilities such as drinking water, cleanliness, and seating arrangements for devotees.
Ganeshotsav in South Mumbai Will Be Unforgettable
Minister Lodha further stated that Ganeshotsav has been granted the status of a State Festival, and from this year onward, the festival will be celebrated in a unique manner. With the cooperation of the BMC, BEST, and the police department, there are plans for vibrant decorations in areas such as Tardeo, Girgaon, Walkeshwar, Khetwadi, and Lamington Road in South Mumbai. A local committee is also being formed to oversee the preparations. He appealed to all to celebrate the festival with great enthusiasm while adhering to court guidelines and maintaining law and order.
