Twelve forts associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj have been officially included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The news has been hailed as historic by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who expressed joy over the global recognition of the Maratha warrior king’s glorious legacy.

Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to preserving and conserving these forts, Shinde stated that Maharashtra will ensure these heritage sites continue to serve as sources of inspiration for generations to come.
