The Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Alibag has announced the organization of Revenue Lok Adalat sessions at the Alibag SDO Court on August 11, 12, 18, 19, and 25, 2025. These sessions will be held in two slots—from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM—to expedite the disposal of pending revenue-related cases.

Focus on Appeals and Settlements

The initiative will focus on appeals and semi-judicial matters pending in Alibag and Murud talukas under the jurisdiction of the SDO Court. Advocates and concerned parties have been urged to present written statements, especially in cases that are likely to be resolved through mutual settlement.

SDO Mukesh Chavan has appealed to all legal professionals and litigants to participate actively in the Lok Adalat and assist in the quick resolution of appeals. He emphasized the importance of timely submission of documents for cases likely to be resolved amicably.

Initiative Follows State Directive

This decision follows the directions issued by the Revenue Minister during a video conference held on July 23, where revenue officials were instructed to immediately act on long-pending revenue claims and appeals. In response, the Additional Collector of Raigad-Alibag issued an official order (No. AJIRA/Revenue Lok Adalat/2025 dated July 29, 2025) mandating the organization of Lok Adalats at the SDO court.

Aim to Clear Procedural Backlog

Revenue officers including tehsildars, circle officers, and the SDO regularly deal with semi-judicial matters, many of which remain pending due to various procedural delays. The Lok Adalat aims to clear this backlog efficiently through a time-bound hearing process.
