Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Famous cardiologist Dr. Bharat Rawat on Monday gave various tips to keep the heart young and healthy. He said that the status of the heart’s health could be measured by walking 3 km in 35 minutes.

If the walk was completed without any halt or tiredness, the heart was working well. Dr. Rawat was addressing a health lecture and Maharishi Gautam felicitation programme organized by Shri Maharishi Gautam Educational and Charitable Trust at Hindi Sahitya Samiti auditorium.

He spoke on ‘Increasing heart disease in youths, diagnosis and ideal lifestyle’.

Dr. Rawat said that those who knew they had diabetes or blood pressure were not in danger but those who did not were in great danger, so getting blood pressure and sugar checked from time to time was essential.

He suggested eating less and on time and consuming homemade food.

Dr Rawat said that not every chest pain was a heart disease. To check heart health, one should walk 3 km in 35 minutes and see if one had to sit down in between due to pain or breathlessness. If this was happening, a doctor should be consulted. If needed, an ECG should be done.

He said people should always keep Disprin with them. This tablet worked well in saving one during a heart attack.

Dr. Rawat also felicitated 45 doctors and lab operators of the Shree Gurjar Goud Brahman Society.

Earlier, Satyanarayan Sharma, educationist KC Sharma, Press Club president Arvind Tiwari, former Judge SN Dwivedi, former judge Om Prakash Sharma, former commissioner Krishna Mohan Gautam, Trust president Jagdish Upadhyay and former president Virendra Upadhyay lit the lamp.
