Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In view of the coming Simhastha 2028, various development works will be carried out in the city and adjoining districts. To mitigate the rush of the vehicles, one more 4-lane rail over bridge will be built parallel to the 4 lane MR-10 ROB. The roads leading to the city from Dewas and Ujjain side will also be further widened for the smooth flow of traffic.
This was disclosed in a meeting called at the divisional commissioner’s office to review the works yet to be done in view of the Simhastha-2028. Divisional commissioner Deepak Singh presided over the meeting. Collector Asheesh Singh, IMC commissioner Shivam Verma, Joint commissioner development DS Randa, senior engineer of IDA Anil Kumar Joshi, deputy director of archaeology department Prakash Paranjape, AGM of MPRDC Prateek Sharma, Himanshu Pandey from NHAI and officials of various departments were present in the meeting.
Collector Singh informed that under Simhastha-2028, upgradation work was to be done in the Guest House located in the Residency. Apart from this, a storm water line was to be laid-down from Niranjanpur square to Mangalia.
IMC Commissioner Verma said that under the Namami Gange Project Phase-I, sewerage treatment work was to be done for the purification of Kanh river under Simhastha project and a 4 km long road was to be constructed from Palda Tiraha to Bypass. Also, a 12-km-long road was to be built from Super Corridor, Lav kush square to Palia Toll Naka to facilitate smooth traffic for the passengers going from the city to Ujjain.
IDA officials informed that to facilitate the traffic on Indore-Ujjain road, an additional 4-lane bridge was to be constructed parallel to the railway over bridge on MR-10. Its construction would be completed in a period of two years.
Conservation of heritage sites
It was told in the meeting that in view of the Simhastha-2028, conservation work of heritage sites at a cost of Rs 266 crore was to be done by the archaeological department in Indore and Ujjain divisions.
It would include the construction of a garden and boundary wall of Lalbagh Palace, restoration work of Krishnabai Holkar’s Chhatri and Rajwada’s Darbar Hall.
Improvement work of Jam Gate and Maheshwar Museum and development work of Guru Govind Singh Memorial Museum in Burhanpur, the fort in Dhar, Rana Bakhtawar Sing’s memorial in Amjhera and Chappan Mahal Museum in Mandu etc.
