Sanawad (Khargone): In a move that respects the sentiments of the people of Nimar region, Madhya Pradesh government has renamed a Government College of Sanawad as ‘Shreemant Bajirao Peshwa Government College.’

This decision has been welcomed by local MLA Sachin Birla, college students, and residents of the area.

They expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Member of Parliament Gyaneshwar Patil, and Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar for honoring their long-standing demand.

MLA Sachin Birla said that naming the college after the undefeated warrior Shreemant Bajirao Peshwa is a tribute to his bravery and ideals, which will continue to inspire the youth of India. He added that the people of the region had been requesting this for a long time, and the government has respected their wishes.

The name change came as a result of continuous efforts and official correspondence by MLA Birla, along with the recommendation of the College’s Public Participation Committee.

The decision has been celebrated by many local leaders and committee members, including Committee President Prabhat Upadhyay, BJP Mandal President Man Singh Rathore, and members Lakshminarayan Patel, Manoj Jain, Aditya Pancholiya, Ashwin Dubey, Tarachand Chachariya, Rahul Hirodiya, Shipra Mandloi, Radhika Jatale, Shyam Daftari, Suresh Solanki, Sumit Chokhra, Yogesh Neema, and Raja Soni.

They all expressed happiness and said that this is a proud moment for Sanawad and a step towards honoring India’s rich history and cultural heroes.
