MP CM Mohan Yadav Lays Foundation Stone Of Indore’s Historic Lalbagh Palace

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone for the restoration and garden redevelopment of the famous Lalbagh Palace in Indore on Tuesday.

The project, which will cost over ₹47 crore, aims to bring the palace back to its original glory. The plan also includes improving the surrounding gardens to make it a top tourist spot and preserve the rich history of the city.

Sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter), CM Yadav said: “Today, I performed the ground breaking ceremony for the restoration and garden redevelopment works of Lalbagh Palace costing more than ₹47 crore during my visit to Indore. Lalbagh Palace is a symbol of our rich heritage and cultural pride. Conserving this place will help our future generations to connect with our history, promote tourism, and showcase Indore’s historyt on the globally.”

On the same day, CM Yadav also paid tribute to Malharrao Holkar, the founder of the Holkar dynasty, on his death anniversary. He offered flowers and garlanded to the statue at the palace premises.

In another post on X, he said: “On the death anniversary of the great warrior Malharrao Holkar, I paid my respects by garlanding his statue at Lalbagh Palace. His life was full of bravery and courage. His inspiring story will always motivate future generations to serve our country.”

Later, CM Yadav visited the Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya (Indore Zoo) where he released a male King Cobra into the Snake Park.

He appreciated the zoo’s work for protecting animals and nature. Sharing his thoughts on X, he wrote “Today during my stay in Indore, I visited Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya and released the male King Cobra in the Snake Park.

The work being done here to protect biodiversity is really good. Saving animals is a service to nature, and it's also a great way to help future generations learn about wildlife.”
