Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The construction of Indore’s six-lane Western Bypass—an ambitious greenfield project estimated at approximately Rs 3,000 crore—is expected to begin very soon.

Spanning about 64 kilometres, the project aims to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity. During a review meeting held at Residency, Collector Asheesh Singh directed officials to complete the land acquisition process within the next two days. He also instructed them to finalise all necessary formalities required to commence construction in the meantime.

The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of land acquisition for the bypass and was attended by Regional Officer of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Shravan Kumar Singh, Project Director of the Indore PIU Sumesh Banzal, Land Acquisition Expert SN Rupla, and SDMs from Depalpur, Hatod, and Sanwer. Collector Singh also reviewed the status of other infrastructure projects being undertaken by the NHAI in the region.

NHAI officials gave detailed information about the proceedings done for land acquisition for Western Bypass. During the meeting, detailed information was given about Draft of payment of the compensation amount in lieu of the land acquisition (technically known as 3G) prepared by land acquisition expert S.N. Rupla for land acquisition for Western Bypass. Collector Singh directed all SDMs to complete the procedure of 3G for land acquisition by Monday, so that the construction of Western Bypass can be started as soon as possible.
