Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A team from the 16th Finance Commission of India is set to visit the city today (Friday) to discuss key financial and developmental issues. In their honour, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav has organized a special lunch and a high-level meeting at Brilliant Convention Center.
The meeting will see participation from public representatives, intellectuals and officials, who will engage in discussions on major finance and development-related topics. Besides, Indore Municipal Corporation will present details of various urban projects and initiatives undertaken in the city.
Focus on cleanliness, waste management
Before the meeting, mayor Bhargav will lead the Finance Commission team on a field visit to observe Indore’s renowned cleanliness model and trenching ground. This visit aims to showcase the city’s waste management systems, which have played a crucial role in Indore being ranked as India’s cleanest city multiple times.
IMC Moves Towards Digital Transformation

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Indore Municipal Corporation held a meeting to discuss the digitisation of important documents across all departments. The meeting chaired by IMC planning and information technology department incharge Rajesh Udavat outlined strategies for modernising document storage and improving digital infrastructure.
Discussions revolved around accelerating the digitisation process, implementation of Software-Defined Wide Area Network for secure connectivity, budget planning for 2025-26 and establishment of a modern data centre.
Implementation and next steps
Udavat directed the deputy commissioner, IT Department, system admin, and consultants to prioritise document collection, scanning and digitisation. “The goal is to make IMC’s operations more transparent, accessible and efficient ultimately improving citizen services through digital advancements,” he said.
