Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav on Friday, inaugurated the state-of-the-art, Acharya Varahamihir Planetarium in Ujjain's Dongla. The planetarium has been incorporated with advance technologies.
Yadav interacted with students in the national workshop on “Astronomy and Indian Knowledge Tradition."
CM Mohan Yadav along with the students watched the inaugural show and expressed appreciation for the initiative.
The initiative of Varahamihir Planetarium aims at providing advance experiences to children about the wonders of Astronomy using technology.
Sharing information about the event on his official X handle, CM Yadav said, "Today, I had the honor of inaugurating the ultra-modern Varahamihir Planetarium in Dongla, Ujjain district, built at a cost of ₹1.6 crore. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the students, guests, and citizens present on this special occasion."
In this modern planetarium, children and visitors coming to Dongla will be informed about the mysteries of modern astronomy with the help of a special 4k film on solar radiation and its waves.
Varahamihir Planetarium, set up by Acharya Trust was aided financially by Avaada Foundation. Whereas, all the technical assistance was provided by Deep Sky Planetarium in Kolkata.

The planetarium, built at a cost of approximately ₹1.6 crore features significant technology advancements. It has been designed with an 8-meter diameter FRP dome equipped with an E-Vision 4 digital projector and digital sound system.
The hall is entirely air-conditioned, 55 people can be accommodated at a time, offering an engaging learning and visual experience.
