Kolkata: The father of the deceased RG Kar trainee doctor on Sunday alleged that her wife was denied admission in the hospital due to political pressure.
Notably, the mother of the victim on Saturday had reportedly suffered injuries to her forehead and had undergone a CT scan and other diagnostic tests to assess the level of injury.
“The doctor who was examining my wife said that she needs to be admitted to the hospital for further treatment. But no sooner did the doctor leave than I saw a change in the attitude of those who were present. Later some of them informed me that my wife cannot be admitted due to some pressure from the state government. However, she was there overnight,” said the victim’s father.
Later, during the afternoon the mother of a deceased trainee doctor of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital was released from hospital.
The mother of the victim however could not speak much but said that their protest for ‘Justice’ for their daughter will continue.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and MoS Sukanta Majumdar who went to see the victim’s mother in the hospital said that the saffron camp is ready to admit her in a central government run hospital for a second opinion.
“As of now the patient wanted to go home and take rest. If they want, she can be admitted in Kalyani AIIMS or any other hospitals under central government,” said Majumdar.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kalyan Banerjee however, accused Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari over the ‘violence’ that took place during Nabanna Abhiyaan on August 9.
Meanwhile, Kolkata police said that an investigation has been initiated over the allegation of the RG Kar victim’s mother that the police had beaten her during the protest.
“We are investigating the incident from all angles. CCTV footage is being viewed. It is not possible for us to say anything right now without seeing everything,” said Commissioner of Police Manoj Verma while visiting the injured police personnel in SSKM hospital.
Countering the comment of the CP, the victim’s father said that the videos should not be ‘tampered’ in the name of investigation.
On the other hand, seven FIRs were filed against BJP leaders and workers, including Kaustab Bagchi and MLAs Ashok Dinda and Agnimitra Pal for allegedly obstructing and threatening on duty police officers.
