Delhi, December 2: In a shocking incident, a Nigerian man reportedly thrashed his wife in broad daylight in Delhi's, Chander Vihar area. The chilling incident came to light on Monday after the man reportedly thrashed his wife so brutally that the woman fell unconscious on the spot. A video showing the woman lying in the streets of the national capital has surfaced on social media. The Nigerian-origin man has been arrested and the police have initiated an investigation in connection with the matter.
There are reports that the husband assaulted the woman under the influence of alcohol due to which the woman fell unconscious on the street. The video of the incident is doing rounds on social media and it can be seen in the video that a massive crowd has gathered at the crime scene and the people are chasing the accused husband. The people are also seen hurling stones at the accused husband and after a long struggle they manage to catch the accused.
They thrashed the accused and informed the police about the incident. It can be seen in the video that the police rescued the accused from the crowd and arrested him. The people are seen beating the Nigerian man even after the police made him sit in the police vehicle. The people attacked the police vehicle and continued beating the accused.
There are also reports that the woman was involved in drug business and many Nigerians are running drug rackets in the area. The woman may have been assaulted over a drugs related manner.

A social media user said, "A Nigerian woman has been murdered in Chander Vihar, Delhi. It is being said that she used to sell drugs in this area. Many Nigerians have come to this place and are living illegally @DelhiPolice. Why no action is being taken against them despite knowing about it?" However, it has been clarified that the woman is alive and is receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. The condition of the woman is critical.
The police have arrested the accused and further inquiry is being conducted in connection with the matter. The reason behind the assault is not clear yet and the police is interrogating the accused.
