A 30-year-old woman was brutally beaten to death by her father and husband in a shocking case of domestic violence that has rocked the Kheragarh region of Agra.
Sunita, a resident of Basai Nawab village in Dholpur, was beaten to death by her father Komal Singh and her husband Pawan, along with her brother-in-law Jal Singh, after she expressed her desire to leave her abusive marriage and marry her lover, Vishnu, her husband's cousin.
The victim's body was discovered on Saturday morning beside a road near Bhopur village, after the perpetrators had transported it on a bike during the night and dumped it in fields. Local villagers alerted police upon finding the corpse.
According to DCP West Atul Sharma, Sunita had been living with her parents in Dholpur, having left her husband due to repeated domestic violence. Her sister Pooja revealed that Sunita had fallen in love with Vishnu, her husband's cousin, and the couple wished to marry.
On 30th May at 11pm, Sunita made a desperate phone call to Vishnu, pleading, "My father and husband will kill me. Please save me somehow." Her phone was switched off immediately afterwards.

Police investigations revealed that Komal Singh had arranged marriages for all three of his daughters to three brothers in 2010. The eldest daughter had already divorced and remarried five years ago, and now Sunita's similar intentions were bringing shame upon the family.
On Friday night, the three men brutally assaulted Sunita in her room. Despite locking herself inside for protection, they broke the window to gain entry and continued the fatal beating. The victim sustained severe injuries to her throat, face, and head.
All three accused have been arrested following the transfer of the case to Dholpur police, where formal charges have been filed.
