Acknowledging Kohli’s loyalty to the franchise, he added,"RCB's victory is a testament to Virat Kohli's 18 years of dedication, loyalty, and commitment. There is no doubt that every RCB player delivered a champion performance across all departments — batting, bowling, and fielding."
"This is a day that made history... Finally, this time, the cup is ours," he concluded.
After 18 seasons of toil, missed opportunities and unconditional support from fans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally lifted their first-ever IPL trophy, defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 6 runs in a throbbing final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Opting to bat first in the high-stakes clash, RCB scored a competitive 190/9 in 20 overs. Veteran batter Virat Kohli laid the foundation with a steady 43 off 35 balls, laced with three boundaries. Skipper Rajat Patidar provided the middle-order spark, smashing 26 off just 16 deliveries, including one four and two sixes.

For PBKS, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh was the standout performer with the ball. He claimed 3 wickets for 40 runs in his 4 overs, delivering crucial blows and tightening the screws during the death overs to restrict RCB from crossing the 200-run mark.
The nail-biting contest saw RCB finally break their jinx, bringing triumph to their long-suffering fan base and writing a golden chapter in the IPL franchise’s history. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru indeed had their 'Ee Sala Cup Namdu' moment this IPL 2025 season.
