BJP leader and MLA from Goshamahal, Telangana, T Raja Singh announced his resignation from the party on Monday. Sharing a copy of his resignation letter addressed to Telangana state president G Kishan Reddy and dated 30 June, Raja stated, "The silence of many should not be mistaken for agreement."

Raja Singh's resignation follows speculation that the party high command plans to appoint Ramchander Rao as state president, bypassing several senior leaders.

In his resignation letter, Raja Singh expressed shock and disappointment at media reports suggesting Rao's imminent appointment, questioning the party's decision-making process.

Opposing Rao's potential appointment, Raja argued, "At a time when the BJP stands on the threshold of forming its first government in Telangana, such a choice raises serious doubts about the direction we are heading."

"There are many capable senior leaders, MLAs and MPs within our state who have worked tirelessly for the BJP's growth and who possess the strength, credibility and connection needed to lead the party forward. Unfortunately, it appears some individuals, driven by personal interests, have misled the central leadership and made decisions while operating behind the scenes. This not only undermines grassroots workers' sacrifices but risks pushing the party into avoidable setbacks," he wrote.

The three-time MLA emphasised his long-standing commitment, "I have been a dedicated karyakarta, elected three consecutive times with the people's blessings and the party's support. But today, I cannot remain silent or pretend all is well. This isn't about personal ambition - this letter reflects the pain and frustration of lakhs of loyal BJP karyakartas and supporters who feel sidelined and unheard."
