Lucknow: Panic gripped passengers aboard the Vande Bharat Express on Saturday evening after unidentified miscreants hurled stones at the train near the Charbagh outer area of Lucknow.
The incident occurred as the Ayodhya–Anand Vihar Vande Bharat (22425) was passing near Alambagh West Cabin. The impact shattered the window of Chair Car coach C-11, alarming passengers seated at seats 30, 31, and 32.
Following the incident, a passenger named Nirmesh reported the matter to the RPF control room. A formal case has been registered, and investigations are underway.
Notably, the Vande Bharat Express is monitored through onboard CCTV surveillance, which has previously aided arrests in similar stone-pelting cases in Prayagraj and Meerut. The incident has once again raised concerns over the safety of premium train services.
Meanwhile, passengers on the Lucknow–New Delhi Shatabdi Express also faced inconvenience Saturday. Due to negligence by the housekeeping staff, the train doors failed to open on time, leaving around 600 passengers stranded in the rain at the platform. A passenger, Krishan Kumar, lodged a complaint with railway authorities regarding the incident
