Sri Muktsar Sahib: At least five people died in an explosion at a double-storey firecracker factory in Punjab's Sri Muktsar Sahib on Thursday night. The factory is reportedly located on the outskirts of the Singhwala village in the Lambi constituency. Over 30 people also sustained injuries in the blast.
According to a report by The Indian Express, the factory is owned by a person named Tarsem Singh. The entire double-storey building collapsed due to the intensity of the explosion.

Several people are also reportedly trapped under the debris of the collapsed building. The identity of the deceased have not been ascertained yet.
Senior officials have rushed to the spot after receiving the information. A rescue operation is currently underway. As per the report, most of the workers in the factory were from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
