A young girl riding a bicycle was seriously injured after being struck and run over by a car in Bareilly's Premnagar police station area on Saturday, June 1. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras and has since gone viral on social media.
The accident occurred in the Rajendra Nagar area under Premnagar police jurisdiction. CCTV footage shows the child cycling in a narrow lane when a white car suddenly turned into the street, striking the young cyclist. The impact caused the girl to fall, and the car's front wheel ran over her before the vehicle came to a stop.
The slow speed of the vehicle allowed the driver to halt at the scene rather than flee immediately. Local residents, hearing the child's screams, rushed to help and pulled the injured girl from beneath the car.
The viral video also shows several people confronting the driver at the scene, with heated arguments visible in the footage. Bystanders quickly mobilized to assist the seriously injured child and address the situation with the driver.
Bareilly Police have responded to the viral video circulating on social media platforms. In an official social media post, the police stated: "The Inspector In-charge of Premnagar has been directed to take necessary action as per rules based on the video in relation to the case."
