Operation Sindoor
On April 22, five to six Pakistan-backed terrorists opened fire on tourists at Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam killing 26 people. In response to the terror attack, India launched Operation Sindoor targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). When Pakistan tried to attack Indian civilian and military installations in retaliation, India's air defence thwarted the attack. On the intervening night of May 9 and 10, India also hit 11 Pakistani air bases.

After Operation Sindoor, Pakistan unsuccessfully launched drones and missiles towards India, leading to a four-day military conflict military conflict which ended on May 10 after the Pakistani Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) called the Indian counterpart.
Earlier last month, during a debate on Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking in the Lok Sabha about the four-day military conflict with Pakistan following Operation Sindoor, said that Pakistan had begged in front of India for a ceasefire.
