The Big FPJ Dialogue hosted by Afrida Rahman Ali and Anushka Jagtiani featured a high-powered panel of Vice Admiral Girish Luthra (Retd), renowned psychiatrist Dr. Harish Shetty, and political analyst-author Sanjay Jha to decode Operation Sindoor — India’s most assertive military response to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism since 1971.
Vice Admiral Luthra described the operation as “unprecedented in scale and coordination,” involving precise strikes across the LoC and IB using drones and missiles. Unlike past operations limited to select targets, Sindoor covered the entire frontier and showcased India’s offensive and defensive preparedness.
Dr. Shetty explored the psychological impact, calling Sindoor a civilizational shift — breaking free from past restraint and projecting strength. However, he warned against overconfidence and emphasized national unity and mental resilience.
Sanjay Jha raised concerns about diplomatic messaging, warning that premature ceasefire announcements — notably by the U.S. — risked re-hyphenating India with Pakistan. He stressed the need for robust intelligence, consistent outreach to immediate neighbours, and avoiding global overdependence.
Together, the panel agreed that while Operation Sindoor marked a decisive shift, India's long-term security lies in balancing strategic force with sustained diplomatic engagement and internal cohesion.
