Rajkot: A speeding electric bus operated by the local municipal corporation rammed into several vehicles in Gujarat's Rajkot on Wednesday, April 16. At least four people were killed in the accident, reported The Times of India. The incident was recorded on camera. The disturbing visuals surfaced online. The incident took place at Indira Circle. The driver has been taken into custody.
In the video, it could be seen that the speeding bus hit several vehicles at the traffic signal. The driver of the bus increased the speed of the bus after the signal turned green. Several people were also injured in the accident. They are rushed to a nearby hospital.

Locals vandalised the bus. A case has been registered at Gandhigram police station. It is still not clear whether the driver of the bus was under alcohol or any other drugs.

“Four people are dead in this accident — two men and two women. Two other women and one man are injured. We have registered an offence at Gandhigram police station. The bus has been seized, and we have requested the RTO to conduct a mechanical inspection. We have also taken the driver’s blood sample to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-2), Jagdish Bangarwa said as quoted by TOI.
Among the deceased were two women. The deceased have been identified as Raju Gida, Sangita Nepali, Kiran Kakkad, and Chinmay Bhatt, reported the media house.
A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
